Hailing from Argentina, Juan Abel Elias is a multi-instrumentalist who brings the diverse musical influences that inspire his own eclectic sound and his trained ear, honed through years of performance and study, to create original works and custom audio post-production. He is a graduate of the conservatory of music, Escuela de Musica Contemporánea in Buenos Aires, which is a member institution of the Berklee College of Music. Juan Abel is an accomplished session musician in Argentina with experience in a variety of styles including jazz, rock, tango, funk and pop. He was a member of the tango-rock band Bettinotti Fernandez, which through recording several albums, achieved national notoriety and international sales.
Now based in San Francisco Bay Area, Juan Abel founded Juan Abel Music to offer a range of audio creative services including music composition, record production, sound design and audio mixing/restoration.
Juan Abel has worked on projects for a range of brands/clients including: American Zoetrope, L’Oreal, Airbnb, Blackphone, City Gross (Sweden), Cash Studios, Peñabrand, Tube Media International, Aspen 102.3 fm radio (Argentina) and Earwax Productions. Work containing his original music/audio-post production has been featured in the press including: MSNBC, Yahoo, The Atlantic, Fast Company, LA Times, USA Today, SF Weekly, Daily Mail, Gizmodo, Business Insider, Buzzfeed, Mashable, and the Art Director’s Club.
Also, Juan Abel presented at the Apple Store (“Composing for Feature Films: Juan Abel and Logic Pro 9”) and he composed/produced an EP “Life’s Happening” for synth-pop band “Lunar Focus”. In upcoming work, Juan Abel contributed to the score for a documentary about the Coppola family in production from American Zoetrope.
